Freshly Ground Savory Oatmeal (oil free!)
makes 1 serving
1/2 cup whole oat groats, ground
~1 cup water
salt to taste
1 tbsp nutritional yeast
1 tsp tahini
garnish – diced scallions
At least 6 hours beforehand, grind your groats then cover with about an inch of water.
Heat saucepan over medium-high, add your groats (water and all), and bring to a simmer and add a pinch of salt. Stirring nearly constantly for ~three minutes, add the nutritional yeast once most of the water has reduced/evaporated. Remove from heat, stir in the tahini then garnish with chopped scallions.
